A Few more pics...

Here is a few more pictures. I hesitate to put more up until I have had time to do a little decorating but, nonetheless...

Dave and Preston made these posts out of scrap wood. Truely craftsman. I love them! And that light fixture in the background. I was on the hunt for the perfect entry light for like 4 months. It was one of the last hings that went up in the house because it took me so long to find it.

EBAY - 30 bucks!

1/2 of our living room. The other side of the room is still a mess!

I love that little diamond shaped window. It is original to the house and I love the light and look that it gives the stairwell.

Meet 'The Guys'

Dave, Sam, and Preston

Calista dubbed this trio 'the guys' the first time she met them. While she knew each of their names, I never once in 4 months heard her call them by name. They were always and now will always be 'the guys.' They stayed with us at Lance's mom's house while they worked on the house and Calista never wanted to leave their side. It was so endearing to watch her with them. She was smitten. She truely loves them!

This was Preston's favorite room of the house. The upstairs bathroom. I think there are more crevices and angles in this one little tiny room than in the rest of the house combined.
THE GUYS' HOUSE. Within the first week of 'the guys' working on our house. Calista started calling it THE GUYS HOUSE. She would get so excited when we would turn on 6th and drive past the park, which is when she realized that we were going to see our house, and she would ask enthusiastically, "We go to the guys' house mom?"

It has now been about 6 weeks since 'the guys' finished and departed and still when Calista wants to go home she asks to go to the guys' house.

The Kitchen/Dining

Before...

During...

After...

I love the view out my dining room table. It's just a huge picture window into my backyard and very bungalow looking garage.

Glass Tile back splash. This was Dave's idea (really nearly everything was.)
We love it. And they shine in the light. It creates a pretty dramatic kitchen.
Kitchen design tip from Dave: Everyone always spends a lot of money on their countertops when the back splash is really what you notice. Skimp of the countertops and splurge on the back splash.
Tried and True

IKEA cabinets. Love the look. Hate IKEA. If you are thinking about going with IKEA cabinets. Call me and I will tell you about our experience. AAHHH.
BUT they couldn't have turned out better and everyone thinks they are custom. Really we are way to cheep for custom cabinets=). Dave added a few custom touches to them and they are everything we dreamed of and more!

The Interior Is DONE

Sorry, I have not taken any final pictures yet, and won't until I have finished cleaning it.
We still have a lot of work to do on the Exterior but it won't stop, raining, snowing, and blowing long enough to do anything.
Check back next week...
Here's a cute pic of Calista and Carradie from when Clayton came to help Lance a couple of weeks ago.

The Stairs/ Entry

When I first walked into this house, I knew that it was the one for me because it had a staircase in the entryway-My Favorite! I have always envied a beautiful stair case- This one is not so beautiful- but I could see the potential...

JUST CUT OFF THE 2nd STORY FLOOR...

AND TAKE OUT A COUPLE OF CONFINING WALLS...

And you have the makings for a great staircase/entry way!

The Kitchen

I don't know if it looked better before or after the cabinets were torn out???

These are a few various pictures of the upstairs of the house. There was 4 befrooms and a bathroom and lots of cute little wierd closets everywhere.

Long skinny hallway that ran the length of the house upstairs.
